bestfriends

People say diamonds are a girl's bestfriend. but I am a boy? so how? lol. The topic has nothing to do with the content of my blog today. By the way, I have moved on from the lazy ass mode and transformed myself into a domestic god. I was very much like a good housewife waking up early in the morning to do some sewing, cooking and cleaning and then making herself look pretty and clean in the late afternoon to welcome the return of her husband from work! Yes... sembah ratu everyone! NOW! I mean it.

The suit jacket is pretty much done. I like the fitting. But I am not gonna talk about the suit jacket in this post. I'll post the picture once the pants are ready.

I was inspired by a piece of cake from Blackstar Pastry cafe on Australia St in Newtown. I don't remember the name of the cake, but the taste has haunted my taste buds till now. For $7 a piece, it was such an experience in the summer! The subtlety of the flavors blended well together in my mouth. It was fruity, creamy but not too sweet (just like me). The cake was made of layers of banana and walnut cake with rose cream and a slice of watermelon as the middle layer, and topped with fresh strawberries. Today my goal is to recreate this masterpiece.

There are three elements in the making of the cake; the banana walnut cake, the rose cream and the fruit. There are tonnes of banana walnut cake recipes on the google machine you can follow. The rose cream is so easy to make you just has to whip a tub of double cream with caster sugar and sprinkle some rose water together. Rose water (essence) is widely used in the middle eastern sweets for flavoring (think turkish delight). First, you have to prepare the cake and chill it in the fridge. Then prepare the rose cream and a slice of watermelon. Once the cake is chilled, slice the cake horizontally and layer them alternately with the rose cream with a slice of watermelon in the middle. Finish with a dallop of the rose cream and top with fresh strawberries and enjoy!

Now I move on to the dinner menu; Chicken Parmigiana.

For this, the main elements are the crumbed chicken and the sauce. Firstly. prepare the sauce. use a couple of peeled tomatoes blended together with some onion and basil leaves. Then cook the paste with olive oil, cloves, brown sugar, salt and pepper until the tomato juice is reduced.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celcius. I made my own breadcrumbs to crumb the chicken by blending 2 slice of bread. Then season them with rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper and add some butter and a small pinch of bicarb soda to give it the crumbly texture.

Before you can crumb the chicken (breast), prepare a bit of milk and an egg mixture on a plate. butterfly the chicken breast, dip it in the milk mixture and throw it in the breadcrumbs. Lay the crumbed chicken on baking tray and bake for 10 minutes, take the chicken out and pour the sauce on top and sprinkle some cheese on top (cheddar/mozarella/parmesan if you like) and bake again for 10 minutes. In the picture above, I didn't use cheese but i throw in slices of eggplant and green beans before I pour the sauce.

p/s: Do not butterfly the chicken breast thinly as you may overcook the chicken

i am lazy

hello...
I won't give you any excuse this time. No Excuse. yes I am lazy. During the day I just eat what I can find in the fridge so that I don't have to leave the apartment. I even bought the blue travelten for the bus ride so that I don't have to talk to the bus driver. My graduation suit is half-finished. I don't really like the sleeves. but oh I am so lazy to fix them... let alone blogging. somebody has to kick my butt and tell me to be more productive!!
tata!

No Muslims at the Black Eyed Peas concert in Malaysia?

What is going on in Malaysia?? Muslims in Malaysia can't do this and that. I wonder if one day they all get really bored of the restrictions and decided to leave the country. Then what would happen? PAS is gonna lose the votes!! Not only that maybe UMNO will be flushed down the toilet too?

of course this is only my opinion. Banning muslims to concerts? who knows the next step is to enforce them to go to the mosque 5 times a day.
